Ronaldo Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Limoeiro Do Norte's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Amaral came free, but Andrézinho Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafa Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Araújo having to interfere. In the 14th minute Igor Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Limoeiro Do Norte's Anselmo Maia suffered a concussion in the 18th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After a rather tough play, Phantásticos FC's Christiano de Queiroz got a free kick in the 19th minute. Limoeiro Do Norte's Andrézinho Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Pitta in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Limoeiro Do Norte getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Perivaldo Barreto hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Rafa Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Limoeiro Do Norte's Igor Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafa Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Eriberto Amaral made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Igor Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limoeiro Do Norte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafa Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ronaldo Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limoeiro Do Norte. In the 66th minute of the match, Igor Baiano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ronaldo Araújo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evandro Mandrak in the 75th minute of play forced Limoeiro Do Norte's goalkeeper Andrézinho Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrézinho Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Amaral in the 79th minute of the match. When Rafa Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Limoeiro Do Norte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Tinoco couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Igor Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Eduardo de Alcântara was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The Phantásticos FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Limoeiro Do Norte were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
