After 19 played minutes Academia Palestrina got a freekick which was hit by Chico Campidelis. César Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Palmeira shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 26th minute, Luciano Quirino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Palestrina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 30 minutes, César Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After the first half Academia Palestrina were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A throw-in in the 81st minute of the game was made by Elano Damião with Válter Baptista as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 84 minutes into the match, Academia Palestrina's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Paraíba came free, but Vitório Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vitório Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Paraíba's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. César Britto might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitório Quintal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Da Vinci FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Academia Palestrina to leave the ground with a draw.
