After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Luciano Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rony Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Quintal having to interfere. The Igualdade SC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Igualdade SC's Rony Magalhães looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vitório Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ismael Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Quintal having to interfere. Academia Palestrina's Vitório Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Palestrina from getting a goal against them. In the 31stth minute of the game Albertinho Monteiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Igualdade SC's Geovânio França was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Albertinho Monteiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovânio França read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Igualdade SC's Geovânio França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Quirino in the 64th minute of play. Albertinho Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio França. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertinho Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the match, Academia Palestrina's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Silveira came free, but Vitório Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovânio França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Quirino in the 76th minute of the match. Albertinho Monteiro made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 77thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Geovânio França would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Albertinho Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Geovânio França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st match minute, Igualdade SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Albertinho Monteiro struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Geovânio França didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Palestrina. Geovânio França didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Palestrina. If Ismael Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Academia Palestrina supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia Palestrina would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
