In the 23rd minute of the match Naldo Ramalho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Guilherme Leão skillfully saved the ball. After 27 played minutes TROPA DE ELITE got a freekick which was hit by Diguinho Pitta. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Meira in the 29th minute of play forced Angicos SC's goalkeeper Eduardo Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Emerson Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When André Luís Arantes came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the TROPA DE ELITE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Arantes couldn't finish the play. If Dito Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Guilherme Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Paraíba in the 39th minute of the match. João Carlos Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Eduardo Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. TROPA DE ELITE's Luiz Guilherme Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save TROPA DE ELITE from getting a goal against them. Vivaldo Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Guilherme Leão having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Waldemar Teles made a kick off. Acácio Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Acácio Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Angicos SC got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Gomes. Eduardo Toledo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 54th minute, took the ball on the long shot from André Luís Arantes. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Oswaldo Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Angicos SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Guilherme Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Augusto Antunes during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vivaldo Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. One of Angicos SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of TROPA DE ELITE:s goal. The supporters of TROPA DE ELITE booed when Angicos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luís Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vivaldo Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Luiz Guilherme Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Teles in the 98th minute of the match. Vivaldo Paraíba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Guilherme Leão having to make a save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. TROPA DE ELITE had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
