Nilmar Cunha hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Cauã Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldinho Prata couldn't finish the play. Catakeamain's Nilton Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Jorginho Freitas made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Jânio Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cauã Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Catakeamain's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
