Spectators: 7367 (Terracing: 5526, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edgar Prata got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Moura in the 6th minute of play forced Pocoes's goalkeeper Juarês Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Timao defense, Gustavo Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Fernando Rodrigues. The Timao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Fernando Rodrigues should have stopped the shot. Eriberto Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Rodrigues having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Moura hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes Timao got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Moura. Sílvio Luiz de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match Eriberto Gaspar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Fernando Rodrigues skillfully saved the ball. Carlos Fernando Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Norberto Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. If Gustavo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Norberto Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juarês Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pocoes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nestor Leite was slow to take the kick. During this time Timao's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Pocoes getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cléberson de Queiroz hit a great ball. Nestor Leite was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Norberto Alagoano made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Pocoes's goalkeeper Juarês Falcão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Maria Reis. In the 61st minute, Eriberto Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juarês Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. A collision led to Timao getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Tadeu Carvalho hit a great ball. Pocoes's Gustavo Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute Eriberto Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Fernando Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eriberto Gaspar during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eriberto Gaspar hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 84th match minute, Pocoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Pocoes's Eriberto Gaspar got a free kick in the 87th minute.
