Benjamin Bezerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luizão de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vila regina's Luizão de Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Brito in the 42nd minute of play. If Olavo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Benjamin Bezerra made the kick off in the second half. Nilson Brito hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Cido Custódio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luizão de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olavo Leão during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Olavo Leão hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Olavo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
