In the 3rd minute, one of Vila regina:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vila regina. Olavo Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Erivaldo de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Macedo Futebol e Regatas's Erivaldo de Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Leão in the 12th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Olavo Leão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erivaldo de Lara. Macedo Futebol e Regatas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olavo Leão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Luizão de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Erivaldo de Lara came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vila regina's Olavo Leão. But to his dismay, Olavo Leão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 25 minutes into the match, Macedo Futebol e Regatas's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Leão came free, but Erivaldo de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila regina's Gustavo Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vila regina booed when Macedo Futebol e Regatas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erivaldo de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Hernani Munhoz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Gilmar de Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila regina's protests and gave Gilmar de Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Vila regina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Quadros to maneuver through the defense. If Hernani Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olavo Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo de Lara having to interfere.

After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Macedo Futebol e Regatas! The goalkeeper, Erivaldo de Lara, was totally fooled by Vila regina's Marcus Quadros, who 58 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Macedo Futebol e Regatas's Clemente Mandrak got a free kick in the 64th minute. Gustavo Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Erivaldo de Lara made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Olavo Leão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Erivaldo de Lara. The goal made the score 1-5. 76 minutes in the game, Olavo Leão fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Erivaldo de Lara having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Betinho Paiva notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of Vila regina's Luizão de Sousa. Luizão de Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hernani Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão de Sousa having to interfere. Hernani Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Luizão de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Macedo Futebol e Regatas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vila regina's performance. The match ended with a win for Vila regina.
