After a defensive mix-up in FC DRAGÕES DA REAL's zone, Olavo Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Fantini came out of the goal and Olavo Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute of the match Waldemar Rosado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinei Fantini skillfully saved the ball. FC DRAGÕES DA REAL's Claudinei Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Leão in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Gustavo Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila regina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Olavo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Cido Brasil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cido Brasil made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Vila regina's Olavo Leão got a free kick in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Vila regina getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Adalberto Paulista hit a great ball. In the 59th minute Cido Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The nice shot from Gustavo Arruda in the 66thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Claudinei Fantini had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Cido Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osmar Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Natã Siqueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luizão de Sousa. Vila regina's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Vila regina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vila regina booed when FC DRAGÕES DA REAL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Siqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball.
