Frédson Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Bigodes FC's Mateus Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Leão in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Olavo Leão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateus Linhares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 13th match minute, Bigodes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Sousa to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Tiago Matos sped through Vila regina's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luizão de Sousa. Mateus Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Vianna in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 minutes, Márcio Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bigodes FC and the Vila regina players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes Bigodes FC got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Sousa. After a defensive mix-up in Vila regina's zone, Tiago Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizão de Sousa came out of the goal and Tiago Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd match minute, Bigodes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Leite to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Vila regina's Marcus Quadros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateus Linhares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Quadros got free with Luizão de Sousa in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Vila regina's Bernardo Vianna got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Mateus Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bernardo Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila regina's protests and gave Bernardo Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute of the match, Mazinho Quadros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luizão de Sousa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mazinho Quadross short, quick shot in the 98thth minute got Luizão de Sousa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vila regina were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bigodes FC for a fine match.
