In the 4th minute of the match Luiz Fernando Bueno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mateus Linhares skillfully saved the ball. After 8 minutes, Adriano Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macedo Futebol e Regatas and the Bigodes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Macedo Futebol e Regatas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Erivaldo de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Leite in the 10th minute of play. Bigodes FC's Mateus Linhares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Bigodes FC from getting a goal against them. Erivaldo de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Márcio Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Bigodes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Sousa couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Tiago Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bigodes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erivaldo de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Macedo Futebol e Regatas getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Clemente Mandrak hit a great ball. Vito Perez struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Erivaldo de Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bigodes FC. Erivaldo de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Perez in the 37th minute of play. If Vito Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo de Lara having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Vito Perez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erivaldo de Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vito Perez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Bigodes FC defense, Betinho Paiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateus Linhares. The Bigodes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateus Linhares should have stopped the shot. If Vito Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Márcio Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute Tiago Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
