In the 4th minute, Jardel Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Real Atlético Estados's Chicão Corrêa got a free kick in the 17th minute. João Francisco Fernandez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 18th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luiz de Queiroz. Rômulo Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Real Atlético Estados's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio da Costa came free, but João Francisco Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Pedro Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Enrique Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Francisco Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jardel Lima made a kick off. The supporters of Real Atlético Estados booed when Paulista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute Horácio da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Francisco Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Catarinense in the 68th minute of play. Real Atlético Estados's João Francisco Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio da Costa in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Enrique Catarinense notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Real Atlético Estados's João Francisco Fernandez. João Francisco Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 76 minutes into the match, Real Atlético Estados's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio da Costa came free, but João Francisco Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
