José Paulo Brodel made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Nankatsu's Ferenc Mester. The Nankatsu fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Nankatsu's Jan Koller looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Lima in the 10th minute of play forced Nankatsu's goalkeeper Chicão Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes Nankatsu got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Cedro. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Atlético Estados's Jardel Lima slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chicão Ortiz. That made the score 1-1 after 14 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Nankatsu's Aristides Cedro got a free kick in the 20th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Real Atlético Estados's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Koller came free, but João Francisco Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferenc Mester hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute Jardel Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferenc Mester charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferenc Mester the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 47 minutes into the match, Nankatsu's goalkeeper Chicão Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rômulo Pontes.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toninho Diniz made a kick off. Chicão Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Lima in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Koller got free with João Francisco Fernandez in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nankatsu's Chicão Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Cordeiro in the 63rd minute of play. Jan Koller's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, João Francisco Fernandez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 77th minute, Hortêncio Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Paulo Brodel made in the 78th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Daniel Rosado however managed to control. After a rather tough play, Nankatsu's Ferenc Mester got a free kick in the 87th minute. Real Atlético Estados's Jardel Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute Rômulo Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg João Francisco Fernandez managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Nankatsu's Jan Koller fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Despite being the better team, Real Atlético Estados failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
