Enrique Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Frank Gomes made a huge save. 17 minutes into the game, Naldo Ferraz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. José Pedro Mangueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Paulista FC's zone, Sandro Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Mangueira came out of the goal and Sandro Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sandro Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Jundiaí FC booed when Paulista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of Jundiaí FC booed when Paulista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute Horácio da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Celso Peixoto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jundiaí FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Peixoto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 76th minute of the match Rômulo Matos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Pedro Mangueira skillfully saved the ball. Jundiaí FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
