In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Confiança FC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Rosado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jardel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Cristóvão Rosado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gremio PortoAlegrense JA. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Peixoto in the 11th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jardel Montenegro took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristóvão Rosado. Cristóvão Rosado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 24th minute, Fabrício Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Peixoto in the 26th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Montenegro in the 33rd minute of play. If Jardel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Confiança FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrício Peixoto came free, but Cristóvão Rosado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Confiança FC booed when Gremio PortoAlegrense JA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Montenegro took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristóvão Rosado. Cristóvão Rosado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The Confiança FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gremio PortoAlegrense JA were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabiano Maia to strike the kick off in the second half. Jardel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 78 minutes in the game, Jardel Montenegro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cristóvão Rosado having to interfere. Fabrício Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristóvão Rosado was a little too slow when Jardel Montenegro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 0-3. After a rather tough play, Gremio PortoAlegrense JA's Kaká Marques got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 90th minute, Manuel Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 91st match minute, Gremio PortoAlegrense JA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Marques to maneuver through the defense. Gremio PortoAlegrense JA's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
