After 18 played minutes Santa Cruz FC PE got a freekick which was hit by Victor Fonseca. In the 19th minute, Egídio Diniz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cucuruto da Vovó fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 22nd minute, João Augusto Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Cucuruto da Vovó's goalkeeper Elivélton Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gildo Diniz. The supporters of Santa Cruz FC PE booed when Cucuruto da Vovó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Paraibano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raimundo Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Pedro Braga having to interfere. João Pedro Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. João Pedro Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Cardoso in the 97th minute of the match. Cucuruto da Vovó's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
