The Maquine SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michel Leme should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute, one of Maquine SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maquine SC. Maquine SC:s Michel Leme showed great skill when he stopped Elivélton Borges:s penalty. Elivélton Borges took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Michel Leme. Michel Leme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 42 played minutes Maquine SC got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Baptista. 0-4 became the score in the 44th minute when Anastasio Cuevas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 58th match minute, Los Grandes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Rossi to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Gernando Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Maquine SC booed when Los Grandes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Los Grandes's protests and gave Enio Siqueira a yellow card for diving instead. 89 minutes into the game, Maquine SC's Leonardo Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miguel Marín made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. When the final whistle sounded Los Grandes left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Maquine SC.
