In the 3rd minute, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Ulisses Santos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdir Damião. Valdir Damião yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Nestor Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeo Rufo having to make a save. The supporters of Leão da Serra FC booed when Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amadeo Rufo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Edin Džeko ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdir Damião. Valdir Damião yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 15th minute, Edin Džeko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Damião was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Marvin Granados took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Valdir Damião to make any attempt to save it. In the 23rd match minute, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Amadeo Rufo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edin Džeko succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 27th playminute. After 32nd play minutes Edin Džeko shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Valdir Damião and just under the crossbar into goal. Valdir Damião made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro Meirelles in the 38th minute. Marvin Granados hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Edin Džeko notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Leão da Serra FC's Valdir Damião. Valdir Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edin Džeko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evandro Pernambucano got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 53 played minutes Nova Erechim - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Pernambucano. Evandro Pernambucano hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. With 57 minutes on the clock, Anselmo Salgado commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ made a substitution. Duarte Andrade replaced Ulisses Santos. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Leão da Serra FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nova Erechim - FSCMZ:s goal. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Nova Erechim - FSCMZ. Sandro Meirelles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Valdir Damião. 8-0. In the 64th minute of the match, Hernani Rocha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amadeo Rufo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 66th match minute, Leão da Serra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho Matorin to maneuver through the defense. Sandro Meirelles, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Murillo Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdir Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edin Džeko in the 77th minute of play. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Lara in the 79th minute of play. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Edin Džeko got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edin Džeko in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Damião prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marvin Granados hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Valdir Damião stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edin Džeko's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Edin Džeko put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Damião. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ fully deserved thier win.
