Laércio Marques who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Reginaldo Abreu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the last second Reginaldo Abreu throw himself and got hold of the ball when Juvenal Marquez in the 4thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 5th minute TUBARÃO E.C. were awarded a corner. Laércio Marques went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 7th minute Laércio Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes, Laércio Marques made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mombach SS's Reginaldo Abreu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 12th play minutes Laércio Marques shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Reginaldo Abreu and just under the crossbar into goal. When Laércio Marques got free in front of the goal in the 16th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Reginaldo Abreu was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Bernardo Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Abreu having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Vito Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mombach SS and the TUBARÃO E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cássio Silva didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 3-0 via right post in the game's 27th minute. TUBARÃO E.C.'s supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Laércio Marques put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Reginaldo Abreu. In the 36th minute, TUBARÃO E.C.'s Laércio Marques ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reginaldo Abreu. Reginaldo Abreu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Juvenal Marquez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reginaldo Abreu. That made the score 7-0 in the 44 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Laércio Marques made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Juvenal Marquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TUBARÃO E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Laércio Marques put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Reginaldo Abreu. Laércio Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reginaldo Abreu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After 60 played minutes TUBARÃO E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Salgado. In the 65th minute, Mombach SS's Márcio Ortiz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Márcio Ortiz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mombach SS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Márcio Ortiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 65th minute, one of Mombach SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mombach SS. Reginaldo Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Donato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. TUBARÃO E.C.'s Váldson da Fonseca was substituted for Laércio Marques. 78 minutes into the match, Mombach SS's goal looked a bit too open when Váldson da Fonseca came free, but Reginaldo Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Váldson da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reginaldo Abreu was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Fernado Chapado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Berger in the 89th minute of play.
