AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's Amauri Munhoz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save AtLéTiCo GaLvAn from getting a goal against them. Impávido Galcölosso EC's Doctor Sócrates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stathis Lolos in the 7th minute of play. Amauri Munhoz made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Paulo Damião in the 12th minute. Anderson do Valle hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Paulo Damião got free with Amauri Munhoz in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliseu Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. João Paulo Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Noel Mendonça to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's Jan Dara got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Impávido Galcölosso EC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fausto Arruda hit a great ball. AtLéTiCo GaLvAn made a substitution. Wilian Marinho replaced Chiquinho Vargas. Noel Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doctor Sócrates having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Stathis Lolos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Doctor Sócrates was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute João Paulo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AtLéTiCo GaLvAn's zone, Fausto Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Munhoz came out of the goal and Fausto Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The AtLéTiCo GaLvAn supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AtLéTiCo GaLvAn would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
