Durvalino Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Barral in the 21st minute of the match. After 22 minutes, Dráuzio Barral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético-PR and the Pitangueira AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Durvalino Chaves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Atlético-PR's Artur Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético-PR from getting a goal against them. Dráuzio Barral got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Claudinei Guimarães the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atlético-PR protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Claudinei Guimarães had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlético-PR! Pitangueira AD were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Atlético-PR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Adolfo Meira took the corner. In the 64th match minute, Pitangueira AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otávio Marques to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Pitangueira AD booed when Atlético-PR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Velloso notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Atlético-PR's Artur Recife. Artur Recife was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
