Olívio Vergílio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cezary Walaszkiewicz's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Augusto Toledo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Caco Ribeiro. The audience was convinced that Cezary Walaszkiewicz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olívio Vergílio was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. The Flamengo RJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olívio Vergílio should have stopped the shot. Augusto Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Caco Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Charles Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bonita's protests and gave Charles Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. Augusto Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Flamengo RJ's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alan Saldanha fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 48 minutes of play, Flamengo RJ's Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caco Ribeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Toledo to make the kick off. Caco Ribeiro made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Luís Fernando Simões sent off a good shot on target. When Alan Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Bonita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Saldanha couldn't finish the play. If Cezary Walaszkiewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Bonita's Cezary Walaszkiewicz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olívio Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Flamengo RJ's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Saldanha came free, but Olívio Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olívio Vergílio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alan Saldanha went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Caco Ribeiro stood somewhat misplaced when Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 69 minute. After a rather tough play, Flamengo RJ's Eurico Paulista got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Caco Ribeiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 76th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. Luís Fernando Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Caco Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cezary Walaszkiewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Augusto Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo RJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caco Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Flamengo RJ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
