Dino Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Vitoria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. Dino Alvarenga hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Rosado in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardinho de Mendonça saved Vitoria from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Melo in the 23rd minute of play forced SC Arapuca's goalkeeper Ernani de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natã Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani de Moraes having to interfere. Natã Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Ernani de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Natã Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernani de Moraes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 40 minutes into the match, Natã Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernani de Moraes. SC Arapuca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natã Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Rosado made a kick off. When Natã Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Vitoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natã Cunha couldn't finish the play. Bruninho Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho de Mendonça having to interfere. Bernardinho de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruninho Sarmento's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. After 56 played minutes Vitoria got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Catarinense. Vitoria's Adilson Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Ernani de Moraes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bernardinho de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruninho Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho de Mendonça having to interfere. In the 70th minute Adilson Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Renato Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruninho Sarmento in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardinho de Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adilson Melo succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4. Falcão Messias hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Adilson Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Adilson Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitoria's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
