Mundial EC's Raphael Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michal Osikowicz in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute Michal Osikowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Josué Freitas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raphael Penha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 10 minutes into the match, Nilson Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raphael Penha. Mundial EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Luiz Fernando Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Bengtsson in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Ostrália getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nilson Botelho hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Botelho in the 29th minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Raphael Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ostrália's Dito Ferreira got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Ostrália's Chicão Alvarenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raphael Penha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Dito Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Raphael Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão Alvarenga in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chicão Alvarenga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chicão Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chicão Alvarenga in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raphael Penha saved Mundial EC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chicão Alvarenga in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raphael Penha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ostrália's Erasmo Paraíba in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mundial EC's goalie prevented a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Luiz Fernando Linares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
