In the 28th minute Rômulo da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Varela in the 31st minute of play. Raphael Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo da Silveira in the 35th minute of the match. Wesley Prado hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Paulo Ganix made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mundial EC's Tomás Senna got a free kick in the 55th minute. Raphael Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nurkan Özek, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Sandro Mesquita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Senna went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 65 played minutes td2 got a freekick which was hit by Nurkan Özek. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton Munhoz in the 66th minute of play forced td2's goalkeeper Sandro Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Léo Chaves during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the td2 players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
