Dalmo Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Fenix's Zeca Oliveira threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Duda Saraiva, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thomás Kroos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Zeca Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kiko Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlin Rosas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Thomás Kroos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Dementadores fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Fenix's Kiko Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dariusz Jaruzelski in the 27th minute of play. Zeca Oliveira was a little too slow when Duda Saraiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-3. Zeca Oliveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thomás Kroos went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Fenix's Kiko Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marlin Rosas in the 40th minute of play. After 46 played minutes, Fenix's Većeslav Hranić shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zeca Oliveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fenix reached it. Thomás Kroos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dariusz Jaruzelski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Ademar Carioca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dementadores's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenix the free kick. The supporters of Fenix booed when Dementadores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Jan-Olof Arenstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Fenix's Kiko Diniz got control of the ball when Dariusz Jaruzelski tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 60 played minutes, Fenix's Leonel Berger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zeca Oliveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fenix reached it. Zeca Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from František Borbély in the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 minutes, František Borbély mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenix and the Dementadores players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dalmo Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Oliveira having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Fenix's Dalmo Jacinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeca Oliveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Dementadores had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
