To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the game, Edward Kisielka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Luisinho Martins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luisinho Martins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Hermes in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laje de Pedra's goalkeeper Luisinho Martins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Clube Atlético Impávido's Edward Kisielka ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luisinho Martins. Luisinho Martins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Baggio to make the kick off.
