Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adalberto Severo started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goalkeeper Tostão Alagoano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Figueiredo. When Dário Travassos came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Afligidos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dário Travassos couldn't finish the play. Zé Roberto Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Afligidos getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Araújo hit a great ball. With a little luck, Afligidos's Tostão Alagoano got control of the ball when Enrique Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Zé Roberto Aguiar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Bueno. Maracajau EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Roberto Aguiar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Carlos Alberto Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Maracajau EC's zone, Zé Roberto Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Bueno came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Artur Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Dário Travassos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Bueno. Maracajau EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dário Travassos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 25th minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Afligidos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 31 minutes into the match, Maracajau EC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Aguiar came free, but Artur Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tostão Alagoano made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Cauan Matorin sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute, Dário Travassos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Afligidos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After having played for 38 minutes, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Afligidos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Adalberto Severo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tostão Alagoano, 1-4. The Maracajau EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Afligidos were winning 2-4.

The wind increased when Zé Roberto Aguiar made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Afligidos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tostão Alagoano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Severo in the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Figueiredo came free, but Tostão Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tostão Alagoano was left in no man's land by his defense there! 64 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Aguiar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Artur Bueno. Zé Roberto Aguiar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-5. If Dário Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Figueiredo in the 70th minute of play forced Afligidos's goalkeeper Tostão Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maracajau EC's Artur Bueno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Maracajau EC from getting a goal against them. Rony Pena's late challenge caught a Afligidos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rony Pena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Dário Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Zé Roberto Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Roberto Aguiar was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Afligidos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 89 minutes into the match, Maracajau EC's goalkeeper Artur Bueno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dário Travassos. 90 minutes into the game, Cauan Matorin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maracajau EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Afligidos the free kick. After 90 played minutes Maracajau EC got a freekick which was hit by Cauan Matorin. Dário Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Bueno having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Zé Roberto Aguiar took a quick shot and it went in 3-6 without a chance for Artur Bueno to make any attempt to save it. Afligidos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
