One of AJAB Tabuaço:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rodrigos:s goal. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Rodrigos. Abel Matos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Reginaldo Cortez. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Rodrigos's Miguel Amaro got a free kick in the 9th minute. After 11 minutes, Alexandre Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rodrigos and the AJAB Tabuaço players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Rodrigos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. If Paulo Vilhena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Paulo Vilhena fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AJAB Tabuaço's protests and gave Paulo Vilhena a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rodrigos booed when AJAB Tabuaço was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Vilhena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Vilhena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Hélder Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginaldo Cortez came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Rodrigos's Alexandre Oliveira. But to his dismay, Alexandre Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. AJAB Tabuaço's Reginaldo Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Amaro in the 22nd minute of play. Afonso Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reginaldo Cortez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonso Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 25 minutes, Afonso Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodrigos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26thth minute of the game Alexandre Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AJAB Tabuaço's Reginaldo Cortez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 33rd minute Alexandre Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Afonso Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodrigos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Rodrigos getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Miguel Amaro hit a great ball. If Paulo Vilhena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 45 minutes, Afonso Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodrigos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Paulo Vilhena made the kick off in the second half. When AJAB Tabuaço's Paulo Vilhena in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rodrigos's goalie prevented a goal. Hélder Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Vilhena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Paulo Vilhena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 79th minute, Alexandre Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonso Amorim was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. Rodrigos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 90th minute Paulo Vilhena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alexandre Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
