Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) SC Barreiro's Claudemiro Campos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, SC Barreiro's goalkeeper Jorge Moutinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Alvarenga. Rubim Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Curado having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match Marco Alvarenga climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Jorge Moutinho. Marco Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jorge Moutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Barreiro defense, Marco Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Moutinho. The SC Barreiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Moutinho should have stopped the shot. Escasd's Viriato Sabrosa got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Claudemiro Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Barreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudemiro Campos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute Claudemiro Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Curado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Rui Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudemiro Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Moutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Sabrosa in the 42nd minute of play. Escasd's Miguel Póvoas got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, SC Barreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Alvarenga came free, but Jorge Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Alvarenga was the one to do the kick off. Jorge Moutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Alvarenga in the 52nd minute of the match. SC Barreiro's Jorge Moutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Alvarenga in the 56th minute of play. The Escasd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Póvoas in the 76th minute of play forced SC Barreiro's goalkeeper Jorge Moutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Escasd's Danilo Curado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudemiro Campos in the 80th minute of play. If Rubim Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quintino Eanes hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Jorge Moutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Viriato Sabrosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Escasd's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Sabrosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Moutinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the SC Barreiro defense, Viriato Sabrosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Moutinho. The SC Barreiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Moutinho should have stopped the shot. Jorge Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Claudemiro Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Curado having to interfere. Escasd's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
