Noel Hitchen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Nicoll, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Leyburn in the 15th minute of play forced Redruth Black's goalkeeper Noel Hitchen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Adam Prokowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Redruth Black's Noel Hitchen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Nicoll in the 20th minute of play. Noel Hitchen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calvin Paget in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Nicoll in the 24th minute of play forced Redruth Black's goalkeeper Noel Hitchen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Calvin Paget fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nottingham United's protests and gave Calvin Paget a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Redruth Black booed when Nottingham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calvin Paget didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Pye-Finch during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Noel Hitchen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Nicoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Adam Prokowski hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Redruth Black's zone, Eddy Nicoll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Hitchen came out of the goal and Eddy Nicoll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Redruth Black's Noel Hitchen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Paget in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Pye-Finch got free with Noel Hitchen in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derek Thorne hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Nottingham United got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Pye-Finch. The audience was convinced that Scott Crabtree's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Al Langston was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Redruth Black's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Nicoll came free, but Noel Hitchen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Redruth Black's goalkeeper Noel Hitchen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Leyburn. After 94 played minutes Redruth Black got a freekick which was hit by Derek Thorne. Sacha Orchard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Derek Thorne kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Redruth Black's Derek Thorne got a free kick in the 98th minute. Eddy Nicoll received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noel Hitchen came out and tried to block the shot, but Eddy Nicoll slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 99th minute.
