Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ollie Stockdale started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vince Piercy was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lewis Dunne. A collision led to South Shields getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Stuart Welch hit a great ball. In the 4th match minute, Reigate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Garner-Currie to maneuver through the defense. Vince Piercy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Garner-Currie, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. South Shields's Neil Slade got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dom Miller kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. South Shields's Vince Piercy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save South Shields from getting a goal against them. Ollie Stockdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ollie Stockdale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Neil Slade managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Shields's supporters rose to their feet, but Neil Slade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Dexter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adrian Dexter came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by South Shields's Neil Slade. But to his dismay, Neil Slade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 35th minute Alf Garner-Currie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Piercy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ollie Stockdale struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Adrian Dexter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Shields. 39 minutes into the match, South Shields's goalkeeper Vince Piercy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rod Knowles. After 47 minutes of play, South Shields's Neil Slade made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adrian Dexter was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Reigate FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. South Shields were winning 1-2.

After 55 minutes of play, Reigate FC's Clive Browne made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vince Piercy was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the game, Cliff Stockdale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. South Shields's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reigate FC the free kick. In the 57th minute, one of South Shields:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for South Shields. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rod Knowles during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vince Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alf Garner-Currie in the 67th minute of the match. Clive Browne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of South Shields booed when Reigate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jools Brumfitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reigate FC's Adrian Dexter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ollie Stockdale in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of South Shields booed when Reigate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Peakman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vince Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alf Garner-Currie in the 80th minute of the match. Clive Browne scored 4-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vince Piercy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dylon Pollard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alf Garner-Currie scored 5-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vince Piercy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
