Josef Wästerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaf Lundblad, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Vätterstad's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Wikander came free, but Josef Wästerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Östra Karup IFK's Herman Skager nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Josef Wästerberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Kåre Fristedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josef Wästerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kåre Fristedt in the 12th minute of play. Vätterstad's Josef Wästerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Fredriksson in the 14th minute of play. Josef Wästerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kåre Fristedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Vätterstad's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Vik came free, but Josef Wästerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josef Wästerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmy Wikander in the 20th minute of play. Malcolm Apelquist came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Vätterstad's Benjamin Fredriksson. But to his dismay, Benjamin Fredriksson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 31st minute, Vätterstad's Bo-Erik Lingren seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bo-Erik Lingren the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vätterstad protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bo-Erik Lingren had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 34th minute Emil Fredriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Wästerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josef Wästerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmy Wikander in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kåre Fristedt in the 36th minute of play forced Vätterstad's goalkeeper Josef Wästerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vätterstad's Josef Wästerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timmy Wikander in the 38th minute of play. Kåre Fristedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Josef Wästerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Benjamin Fredriksson came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Vätterstad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Fredriksson couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Östra Karup IFK's Herman Skager got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Jens-Ove Carlberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Östra Karup IFK's Malcolm Apelquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Skog in the 53rd minute of play. Malcolm Apelquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Carlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After a rather tough play, Östra Karup IFK's Daniel Vik got a free kick in the 55th minute. Timmy Wikander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Josef Wästerberg made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timmy Wikander got free with Josef Wästerberg in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Jens-Ove Carlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vätterstad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herman Skager in the 67th minute of play forced Vätterstad's goalkeeper Josef Wästerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timmy Wikander got free with Josef Wästerberg in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes into the match, Vätterstad's goalkeeper Josef Wästerberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timmy Wikander. After having played for 72 minutes, Timmy Wikander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Östra Karup IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timmy Wikander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Timmy Wikander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josef Wästerberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timmy Wikander in the 81st minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Kåre Fristedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Östra Karup IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kåre Fristedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josef Wästerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmy Wikander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jens-Ove Carlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The long shot by Timmy Wikander in the 89th minute really tested Josef Wästerberg's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 91 played minutes Vätterstad got a freekick which was hit by Tony Sjöström. Vätterstad's Josef Wästerberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Vätterstad from getting a goal against them. In the 97th minute, Vätterstad's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Timmy Wikander fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Vätterstad were victorious despite being under pressure from Östra Karup IFK for much of the match.
