The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The goalkeeper, Arne Tinglöf, was totally fooled by Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 15 minutes, Torsten Frisk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Getinge IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torsten Frisk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdemar Hermansson during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Getinge IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sonkans IK:s goal. When the match had been going on for 23 minutes, Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Arne Tinglöf. In the 29th minute, Karl-Axel Ugla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arne Tinglöf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Offendahl in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Getinge IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torsten Frisk to maneuver through the defense. Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Getinge IF. Claes Sundström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Tinglöf having to interfere. Claes Sundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Greger Palmkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Arne Tinglöf made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torsten Frisk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arne Tinglöf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claes Sundström in the 52nd minute of the match. Getinge IF's Arne Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Axel Ugla in the 53rd minute of play. Arne Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Axel Ugla, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After some careless play in the Getinge IF defense, Karl-Axel Ugla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arne Tinglöf. The Getinge IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Tinglöf should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Claes Sundström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Tinglöf was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Getinge IF's Arne Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Axel Ugla in the 61st minute of play. Claes Sundström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Arne Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute of the match Sonkans IK got a corner. Getinge IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Melker Larsfält ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält to fire away a dangerous shot which Arne Tinglöf despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Getinge IF's Arne Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Axel Ugla in the 88th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Getinge IF's zone, Claes Sundström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Tinglöf came out of the goal and Claes Sundström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Sonkans IK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
