Gabriel Geißler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Karsten Bastian made a huge save. When Gabriel Geißler came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the FC Berlin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Geißler couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes Piast got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Sikirski. A collision led to FC Berlin getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kristian Stier hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Ruben Englmaier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danny Wittenbeck skillfully saved the ball. Danny Wittenbeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anjo Willmann in the 25th minute of play. If Calvin Teuwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Teuwen in the 35th minute of play forced Piast's goalkeeper Karsten Bastian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anjo Willmann in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Berlin's goalkeeper Danny Wittenbeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gabriel Geißler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calvin Teuwen to make the kick off. Jörg Rohde kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Norbert Rehm's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Danny Wittenbeck skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Berlin's goalkeeper Danny Wittenbeck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anjo Willmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Danny Wittenbeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Anjo Willmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piast's supporters rose to their feet, but Anjo Willmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Wittenbeck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Gabriel Geißler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Berlin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some careless play in the Piast defense, Calvin Teuwen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karsten Bastian. The Piast fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karsten Bastian should have stopped the shot. FC Berlin's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
