When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Lucrețiu Latarețu sped through Rudna's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robert Mihălțan. Lucrețiu Latarețu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robert Mihălțan having to make a save. Lucrețiu Latarețu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Robert Mihălțan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Mihnea Barbăsură managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihnea Barbăsură was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Mihnea Barbăsură got a very nice opportunity to score, but Robert Mihălțan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lucrețiu Latarețu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 30 played minutes UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA got a freekick which was hit by Călin Elenescu. Eliodor Pietreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Daraban in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Lucrețiu Latarețu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eliodor Pietreanu was a little too slow when Manuel Gorun got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 1-2. The UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rudna's performance. The match ended with a win for Rudna.
