After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Cem Torcan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Cem Torcan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tuncay Vedat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tuncay Vedat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Halit Fahri Özarı, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Gürselpaşa SK's Tuncay Vedat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cem Torcan in the 14th minute of play. Halit Fahri Özarı struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Tuncay Vedat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray. Cüneyd Tuğaltay kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halit Fahri Özarı in the 30th minute of play forced Gürselpaşa SK's goalkeeper Tuncay Vedat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Garip Balıkçı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gürselpaşa SK's Tuncay Vedat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azim Ayıkoğlu in the 46th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cem Torcan to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Galatasaray's Halit Fahri Özarı slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tuncay Vedat. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. Cem Torcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuncay Vedat having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goal looked a bit too open when Erbatur Oğuztüzün came free, but Kadri İçten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Galatasaray's goalie and right to Okanalp Çoğaş. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Galatasaray's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Azim Ayıkoğlu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Tuncay Vedat came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Galatasaray's Halit Fahri Özarı. But to his dismay, Halit Fahri Özarı quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Halit Fahri Özarı struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tuncay Vedat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray. Halit Fahri Özarı's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tuncay Vedat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Galatasaray supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Galatasaray would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
