Kane Day sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milton Johnston charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Milton Johnston the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Jacob Mudie fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mooroobie's protests and gave Jacob Mudie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Mooroobie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Mudie to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes, Brockman Laing mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mooroobie and the Merrima players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brockman Laing hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. When Merrima's Brant Askew in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mooroobie's goalie prevented a goal. Brant Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27thth minute of the game Brant Askew who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mooroobie's Hank Minton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brant Askew recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Merrima's Brant Askew in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mooroobie's goalie prevented a goal. If Irving Mckinnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Kane Day got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stan Barry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthony Tresise having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Stan Barry ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anthony Tresise was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Kane Day struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Anthony Tresise didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mooroobie. If Irving Mckinnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Brant Askew came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Merrima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brant Askew couldn't finish the play. Irving Mckinnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hank Minton having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brant Askew stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Mooroobie getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Kane Day hit a great ball. Brant Askew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hank Minton having to interfere. In the 59th minute Brant Askew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hank Minton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mooroobie's goalkeeper Hank Minton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Irving Mckinnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Hank Minton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Mooroobie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Irving Mckinnes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Irving Mckinnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hank Minton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brant Askew in the 81st minute of the match. Irving Mckinnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hank Minton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irving Mckinnes in the 85th minute. With his leg Hank Minton managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Merrima's Irving Mckinnes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Brockman Laing hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Jacob Mudie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anthony Tresise having to make a save. Brant Askew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Hank Minton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Mooroobie got a freekick which was hit by Stan Barry. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Merrima eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
