Moustafa Ghodhbane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 2nd minute of the match. U21 Vietnam were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after U21 Tunisia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Trần Thuy took the corner. The corner led U21 Vietnam's Trần Thuy to fire away a dangerous shot which Moustafa Ghodhbane despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With his leg Moustafa Ghodhbane managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when U21 Vietnam's Nguyễn Loc fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to U21 Tunisia getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Fadhel El Ouaer hit a great ball. After 23 played minutes U21 Vietnam got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tong. Nguyễn Tong took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moustafa Ghodhbane. Moustafa Ghodhbane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 31 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Dinh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Vietnam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Tunisia the free kick. After 31 played minutes U21 Vietnam got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Dinh. Chems Salhia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hoang having to interfere. Trần Viet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Moustafa Ghodhbane made a huge save. After 38 minutes of play, U21 Vietnam's Lê Cuc made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Moustafa Ghodhbane was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Loc got free with Moustafa Ghodhbane in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chems Salhia to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Nguyễn Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moustafa Ghodhbane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Muhammad Karoui hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Nguyễn Loc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Tunisia's Moustafa Ghodhbane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Nguyễn Loc came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the U21 Vietnam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Loc couldn't finish the play. When Hamza Ouhir fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Tunisia's protests and gave Hamza Ouhir a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Tunisia's Hamza Ouhir got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Nguyễn Loc came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the U21 Vietnam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Loc couldn't finish the play. The supporters of U21 Vietnam booed when U21 Tunisia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chems Salhia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Nguyễn Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Vietnam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Loc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Lý Phong made a precise shot to the right of Moustafa Ghodhbane. U21 Tunisia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Moustafa Ghodhbane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 90th minute of play. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Trần Viet sped through U21 Tunisia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Moustafa Ghodhbane. 96 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Loc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Moustafa Ghodhbane was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the U21 Vietnam players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
