When I watched the game I observed the following:

1. Eleven minutes left of the match, your team was leading 3-1 i.e. last ten minutes or so your goalie let 3 goals in (guess it has to do with his stamina).

2. During the last eleven minutes, you received 3 penalties i.e. they had one more player on the ice rink. You got 5 penalties in total, it indicates that you are playing aggresive which may have affected your player's stamina.

3. Eleven minutes left and they managed to shoot 4 times against your single shot.

My guess is that your player's stamina and number of penalties let your down plus your opponent's home advantage. I noticed that you won 4-1 last time plus had more scoring chances, did you use the same tactics?

Yes, but I recently got a new player in a wing position, apart from that, I don't change my tactics.

Skiller of your team? going on player values your players dont look amazing. Id say you were doing well in div 2 with a team value such as yours. You might be in for a shock once you hit div 1. invest in younger players you can probably pick up younger players with higher values for relatively cheap.
If you are conceding in the fourth quarter then your players would benefit from more stamina.

Had a quick look at your players and, no disrespect, but they’re pretty “average.” I’d get rid of all of the over 23s because you’ll have better youths after a single season with a bit of training and a visit to TC. There is no point at all even having 28 year olds with no stamina and a “best” skill of 5 pucks.

Concentrate on the youngsters and get them trained up, focus on a key core skill – shooting or checking, plus Power, speed & stamina and after 3 seasons as youths, you’ll have players 100 times better than the seniors you have now.

@chowders, always nice to use your National Coach Assistant tools and check the skills of the players ;)

@manujamal, based on the information given by chowders, another option would be to keep your players until you get promoted to the next division. Next season, have a feel of the standard of your new division i.e. make sure you can still survive even if you sell all your old players. Make sure you upgrade your youth programme and maximise the number of youth players. I think you currently got 13 youth players i.e. you can still add 7 more youths. You should take advantage of the youth packages available and send youth players to training camp and hopefully after a couple of seasons your players qualify to play for the U21 national team.
