Tactics????????

I ve tried to position my players in all 4 formations to diiferent positions according to the skills they posess.In a certain formation, playing the wing very forward, in some other lines positioning my players more into the back , puting defenders on the line (level) as goalie. In short every formation was very different to the other. However, when i tried instant match and watched game in the simulators, all formation seemed to have just the same plain positioning of players. Is there any diference at all by apllying diferrent tactics?????????? Also not a single difference between defensive, normal and attacking whatsover...That how it seems to me. Would like to know the experience of the more experienced players since I am playing only for 2 months or so... Seems like soccer simulator is much more adjustable... Appreciate your input... PI would make sense.. Also been said that if you put wingers near boards they would take more long shots instead of skating to the goal.
